I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Public Health, Policy & Systems and a member of the Health Inequalities Policy Research (HIP-R) team. I work with Professor David Taylor-Robinson on one of the NIHR School for Public Health Research funded projects on the Intelligence for public health action to improve outcomes and address inequalities in children and young people’s health. My research interests include evaluating the impact of economic and social policies and interventions on health and wellbeing outcomes.

I have a PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow. My PhD research investigate the effects of the 2016 UK national living wage and changes in the State Welfare Benefits programmes on health and wellbeing outcomes. Before my PhD, I worked as a research associate at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), Nigeria, and before then, as a research assistant at the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research, Nigeria.

I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), an international and professional recognition of my commitment to learning and teaching. It is also a confirmation of the alignment of my practice to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) in Higher Education.

I completed both my MSc (Distinction) and BSc (Hons) in Economics as the Best Graduating Student with prizes and awards, including the Tony O. Elumelu Legacy Price for Excellence in 2014 and the Olabisi Onabanjo University Council Scholarship/Bursary Award of Merit to Brilliant Student in 2010.
